Hydrated Lime
Hydrated lime is processed from Limestone. Limestone is a naturally occurring sedimentary rock consisting of mainly calcium carbonate, along with some other crystalline forms of Calcium. Hydrated lime processing includes removal of CO2 and other combustible impurities by calcining of Lime Stone with coal powder which makes quicklime (CaO). Now quicklime is crushed into powder form and added into water. Quicklime react with H2O to make Ca(OH)2 and finally classifier into the hydrated lime. It has
lime, cal, or applications in Food, medicine, Paper, Paint, sugar, chemical, water treatment and construction sectors. When it is heated to the temperature up to 500 0C it removes the containing water to form again lime. It can also be transformed into Calcium Carbonate by reacting it with CO2.
Natural gypsum is mostly used in the manufacture of cement, fertilizer and sulfuric acid. It is also used as a soil conditioner for agriculture purpose. As fillers it can be used in paint, rubber, paper, etc. Calcined form of gypsum is utilized in the preparation of various type of building materials such as plasters, wallboards, blocks, etc.
